A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

DEVOTIONAL

In the hustle and bustle of the business world, it's easy to get caught up in the daily challenges and decisions that come our way. As Christian businesspeople, we are called to navigate these waters with a different perspective—a perspective rooted in faith and trust in our Heavenly Father.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. In the fast-paced world of business, it's tempting to rely solely on our skills, knowledge, and experience. However, God invites us to surrender our plans and decisions to Him, acknowledging that His ways are higher than our ways.

Trusting God in business doesn't mean we neglect our responsibilities or stop making strategic plans. Instead, it means seeking His guidance in every decision we make. Just as we would consult with experts in our field, we can turn to the ultimate expert—our Creator—for wisdom and direction.

The promise in Proverbs assures us that when we submit our ways to God, He will make our paths straight. This doesn't necessarily mean a trouble-free journey, but it guarantees that God is with us, guiding us through challenges and obstacles. As we trust in Him, our business endeavors become a partnership with the One who holds the universe in His hands.

Take a moment today to reflect on your business decisions. Are you leaning on your own understanding, or are you trusting God's plan? Invite Him into your boardrooms, meetings, and daily tasks. Seek His guidance, and trust that He is faithfully leading you toward a path of purpose and fulfillment.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, in the midst of our business endeavors, we acknowledge Your sovereignty and wisdom. Help us to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Guide our decisions, and may our work be a reflection of Your purpose for our lives. We surrender our plans to You, knowing that Your ways are higher and Your guidance is perfect. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
